How do I change the address where I receive payment?

What documents do I need to make changes on my account?

Does Rio Petroleum provide direct deposit?

Yes. Please contact the Owner Relations department at (806) 356-8033 ext 235 to request a Direct Deposit form.

Who do I contact about my revenue check?

Please call our Owner Relations department at (806) 356-8033 ext 235, or email us at ownerrelations@riopetro.com. For verification, please include your name, daytime phone number including area code, owner number, and your question.

Can I expect to get a 1099 every year?

Royalty owners who received $10 or more and working interest owners who received $600 or more in the calendar year will receive a 1099 by January 31st of the following year. The income reported to the IRS is your gross income prior to any other deductions or taxes. The 1099 will also list any state or US withholding amounts deducted from your revenue checks.

What should I do if my check is lost, stolen, or more than 180 days old?

If your check is stolen, contact the Owner Relations department at (806) 356-8033 ext 235. Any check greater than six months old should be marked "VOID" and sent back to Rio Petroleum. We will reissue the check on our next revenue check run once the check is received.

What should I do if I haven’t received a check in several months?

Payments of less than $100 will be accrued until the total amount equals $100 or more. If $100 is not met, accrued funds are released annually on December 31st.

When should I expect my current revenue check?

Your revenue check is printed on the last business day of the month. Please allow 10 business days for processing and delivery.

Who do I contact to determine the value of my mineral interest?

We do not provide any type of valuation or opinion of your interest.

How can I check on the production status of the well?

You can access well data and production information through the following resources:

Section 91.504, Texas Natural Resources Code, gives an owner of a royalty interest in oil or gas produced in Texas the right to request from a payor information about itemized deductions, the heating value of the gas and the Railroad Commission of Texas identification number for the lease, property or well that may not have been provided to the royalty interest owner. The request must be in writing and must be made by certified mail. A payor must respond to a request regarding itemized deductions, the heating value of the gas or the Railroad Commission of Texas identification number by certified mail not later than the 60th day after the date the request is received. Additional information regarding production and related information may be obtained by contacting the Railroad Commission of Texas’ office of Public Assistance or accessing the commission’s website.
